Globe International, a Mongolian NGO has started 12-month project “Transparency Campaigning” at Local Government to Curb Corruption from August 15, 2010 under the funding of the Partnership for Transparency Fund (http://www.ptf.org/).

The audio and videos

Globe International has produced ten series of audios “Your Right to Know” and ten video series “Curb Corruption!” and it were distributed to the workshop and training participants. The audio and video will be aired by GI’s 8 partner local radio stations and local televisions in the aimag centers.

Herders Will Monitor Transparency and Public Service at Their Soums

The participants of the two community workshops which were held in December 2010 in Guchin-Us soum of Ovorkhangai aimag and Bayankhutag soum of Khentii aimag in December 2010 selected 12 members of the monitoring teams; six in each soum and the trainers of Globe International and Independent Authority against corruption /IAAC/ helped them to develop goal and objectives of the monitoring and define scope of the monitoring and writing the reports.

Information and communication project to promote UPR started

Mongolia will present its first ever Universal Periodic Review (UPR) to the UN Human Rights Council re¬garding its human rights situation. Mongolia is scheduled for UPR review on 23rd of November 2010 at the 9th session of the UPR working group in Geneva. In preparation of the UPR process, Globe International NGO launched a project to promote UPR with information and communication activities commencing March 1, 2010 with a support of the Open Society Forum.
