Herders Will Monitor Transparency and Public Service at Their Soums

The participants of the two community workshops which were held in December 2010 in Guchin-Us soum of Ovorkhangai aimag and Bayankhutag soum of Khentii aimag in December 2010 selected 12 members of the monitoring teams; six in each soum and the trainers of Globe International and Independent Authority against corruption /IAAC/ helped them to develop goal and objectives of the monitoring and define scope of the monitoring and writing the reports.

Two monitoring trainings were held on 7 December 2010 in Guchin-Us soum of Ovorkhangai aimag and on 16 December in Bayankhutag soum of Khentii aimag.

The monitoring team members signed the Code of Ethics.

After the discussions, the monitoring teams selected the following public organizations and services to conduct monitoring from December 2010 through February 2011:


Ovorkhangai Guchin-Us soum:
         - Soum governor’s office
         - Social welfare services
         - School lunch program at local school

        - Health service at local hospital

The monitoring teams will complete the monitoring and send the draft reports to Globe International for translations. Upon completion, the reports will be posted at Globe International web site and websites of the soums which will be launched by the project.
