Two-day residential training was held in Jargalant Complex on November 24-25, 2011 and it involved 12 investigative journalists working in the Ulaanbaatar media. The trainings participants selected by the Globe International project staff based on criteria including the commitment and experience on investigative reporting.

The training was held in Jargalant Complex, located 25 km from Ulaanbaatar on October 27-29, 2011. Three-day training of trainers involved the mixed group of journalism teachers, working journalists and Globe International trainers. Mr.Oleg Panfilov, a professor from ILIA University, Georgia

Globe International produced audio handbook “Story based inquiry” for journalists, journalism teachers and students in 200 copies. 

Globe International has launched an online education URL at its main website http://journalism-edu.mn/investigative/   and posted the UNESCO manual for investigative journalists “Story based inquiry” in Mongolian.

The meeting was held on September 14, 2011 in the Modern Nomads Restaurant and it involved 14 Mongolian journalists representing the broadcast and print media.  Marat Tokoev, the PAJ Director interviewed by AIST TV, a Russian channel and Eagle TV, news channel.

The training was held on September 13, 2011 in Bishrelt Plaza hotel and it involved 15 participants represented Globe International staff, Mongolian journalists and their media organizations such as Press Institute of Mongolia, Association of Mongolian Daily Newspapers and Association of the Parliamentarian Reporters.  

“Globe International” is implementing a four-monthly project “Story-based Inquiry - Investigative reporting training” under the UNESCO, Oyu Tolgoi LLC and  the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)  fundings. The current project attempts to encourage the media practitioners to develop professional and independent investigative stories, based on editorial independence and solid professional ethical values.

FORUM-ASIA conducted an international fact finding mission to Mongolia from 28 August to- 2 September, 2011 to examine the state of freedom of expression and freedom of information. This is a report of the preliminary findings and recommendations by the fact finding mission.

A female journalist of Zuunii Medee (Century News) daily newspaper Bolormaa published an article in the newspaper on November 8, in Issue #267 titled “The director of “Mon Uran” company B.Narankhuu is being investigated by the police organization for a sexual abuse of teenage girls”.

Globe International (GI), the IFEX member is implementing skills exchange project “Skills exchange on campaigning and experience-sharing” aimed at exchanging campaigning skills and learning each other’s experiences of the two IFEX members to be partnered with Public Association “Journalists” (PAJ), Kyrgyz Republic, the IFEX member.
