Training for Ulaanbaatar Journalists

Two-day residential training was held in Jargalant Complex on November 24-25, 2011 and it involved 12 investigative journalists working in the Ulaanbaatar media. The trainings participants selected by the Globe International project staff based on criteria including the commitment and experience on investigative reporting.

Globe International produced audio handbook “Story based inquiry” for journalists, journalism teachers and students in 200 copies.

Globe International has launched an online education URL at its main website http://journalism-edu.mn/investigative/   and posted the UNESCO manual for investigative journalists “Story based inquiry” in Mongolian.

The meeting was held on September 14, 2011 in the Modern Nomads Restaurant and it involved 14 Mongolian journalists representing the broadcast and print media.  Marat Tokoev, the PAJ Director interviewed by AIST TV, a Russian channel and Eagle TV, news channel.

Starting new project titled ”Story-based Inquiry - Investigative reporting training”

“Globe International” is implementing a four-monthly project “Story-based Inquiry - Investigative reporting training” under the UNESCO, Oyu Tolgoi LLC and  the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)  fundings. The current project attempts to encourage the media practitioners to develop professional and independent investigative stories, based on editorial independence and solid professional ethical values.

A female journalist of Zuunii Medee (Century News) daily newspaper Bolormaa published an article in the newspaper on November 8, in Issue #267 titled “The director of “Mon Uran” company B.Narankhuu is being investigated by the police organization for a sexual abuse of teenage girls”.
