Globe International is implementing a project titled Monitoring Press Freedom and  Supporting Independent Media in Mongolia with the support of Open Society Institute based in London.
The main goal of this 2-year project is to protect the rights and independence of journalists by monitoring threats and attacks on journalists and media organisations thus contributing to promoting greater media freedom. Globe International has been monitoring the free expression violations since October 2005 with OSI Network Media Program support, and we registered 157 cases against media and journalists.

Globe International is implementing five-month project designed to initiate media legal reform in Mongolia with the support The Asia Foundation.
The project’s goal is to contribute to the development of good and accountable governance through promoting the legal supportive media that is able to take greater contribution to the consolidation of democracy in Mongolia.

Globe International, a Mongolian NGO celebrated the WPFR on May 3, 2010 at Puma Imperial Hotel in Ulaanbaatar, the capital under slogan “For the People’s Right to Know”. The event gathered more than 40 journalists and media practitioners and media freedom defenders.

Mongolia will present its first ever Universal Periodic Review (UPR) to the UN Human Rights Council re¬garding its human rights situation. Mongolia is scheduled for UPR review on 23rd of November 2010 at the 9th session of the UPR working group in Geneva. In preparation of the UPR process, Globe International NGO launched a project to promote UPR with information and communication activities commencing March 1, 2010 with a support of the Open Society Forum.

Globe International, NGO in cooperation with Paris based media NGO  Internews Europe is planning to organize a three-day international conference with the financial support of the EU Asia Invest Programme in the framework of the project “Business Roaming”.

Globe International, a Mongolian NGO has completed the project “Defamation and Censorship” under the US Embassy grant. The project implemented from October 1, 2009 to February 15, 2010.  

Globe International, a Mongolian NGO has organized a seminar “Defamation and Censorship” on February 9, 2010 at Puma Imperial Hotel.  In total, 32 participants representing media, journalists, lawyers and NGOs attended the seminar.
