Mongolia will present its first ever Universal Periodic Review (UPR) to the UN Human Rights Council regarding its human rights situation. Mongolia is scheduled for UPR review on 23rd of November 2010 at the 9th session of the UPR working group in Geneva. In preparation of the UPR process, Globe International NGO launched a project to promote UPR with information and communication activities commencing March 1, 2010 with a support of the Open Society Forum.
Overall mission of information and communication activities is to improve public knowledge and understanding on UPR and shape public view of UPR. Objectives of the project are to distribute an information on UPR and its process through most influential media means in Mongolia and other information channels, to educate 30 journalists on UPR reporting, and to call local NGOs and individuals to contribute in preparation of the NGO National Report
