Alert — Mongolia 13 December, 2010 SOURCE: Globe International NGO On November 5, 6, and 8, 2010, a news producer and other staff members of the Eagle TV station received phone calls from officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The callers claimed that the TV station had broadcast inaccurate comments on the 3-hour live webcast from the UN 9th assembly of the UPR working group in Geneva, November 2. The officials also claimed that after the airing of the live webcast, the Government public reputation had been damaged. They demanded a copy of the webcast. |

Cooperation contract signed

The executive committee of the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists (CMJ) and the Trade Unions of the Mongolia (TUM) signed a three-year cooperation contract (2011-2013), on December 3, 2010.
In accordance with the contract, the sides will cooperate in protecting interests of journalists, improving working conditions for them, and increasing their wages, allowances, and social and health insurance. |

Globe International NGO wants MPs to permit journalists to research parliamentary session poll results by name

On September 22, 2010, the NGO Globe International requested Ts.Sharavdorj, head of the parliamentary office of Mongolia, to become au fait with detailed notes of sessions which discussed all laws, resolutions and other legal documents from the year 2008, and to copy some necessary documents. The request was made within the framework of the “Integrity Star” monitoring project.
