Training of trainers to strengthen Social Accountability in Education sector

The multi-stakeholder Inception Seminar for TAME project was organized

A total of 48 participants attended the Inception Seminar aimed to reinforce discussions on the collective efforts of the stakeholders in the education sector at national and provincial levels: government agencies, civil society representatives and school staff and parents towards making the education services better.
Seminar on credibly, independently and professionally monitor online freedom of expression violations

On December 9-10, 2015 GIC organized a seminar on monitoring freedom of expression violations at Puma Imperial Hotel’s conference hall. It was attended by 16 representatives from media organizations/associations, lawyers, CSOs, including GIC, Confederation of Mongolian Journalists, Online Media Association, LGBT Center, National Center for Journalism Training and provincial representatives of CMJ from Darkhan, Dornod, Bayankhongor, Umnugovi, Arkhangai, Khentii and Nalaikh for monitoring freedom of expression violations.

International Experts Mission to build capacity on international standards on freedom of expression and the Internet

On 4 and 5 November 2015, the International Experts Toby Mendel and Charles Kriel met with MPs, legislators, government representatives, police officers, journalism and law students, journalists and creative workers of Mongolian National Broadcaster. The Mission targeted more than 140 stakeholders.

The round table discussion on the occasion of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists was jointly convened by Globe International Center, Open Society Forum and Confederation of Mongolian Journalists on 2 November 2015 at the OSF Conference Hall. It was supported by the UNESCO, Beijing Office and attended by 50 participants and 5 speakers, including Mr.Toby Mendel, Executive Director of the Centre for Law and Democracy.
Media Law Workshop Defamation, Online Expression and Self-regulation

The Globe International Center NGO in cooperation with the Mongolian Bar Association are organizing a training course among Mongolian lawyers including judges, prosecutors, defence lawyers and  researches on theme  a Course on Selected Media Law Issues: Defamation, Online Expression and Self-regulation  under the finding of the Deutsche Welle  Akademie in  28-30 October, 2015 at BAR`s training hall. Some Mongolian journalists are invited to join to this including members of Media club.

In her message sent for the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists Ms Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO urged that, all States to take all the necessary measures — through legislation, protection mechanisms, and new adequate resources — to ensure that investigations and trials relating to crimes against journalists are undertaken.
