Globe International, a Mongolian NGO has completed a six-month project entitled “Advocating Human Rights through Contextualized Information” implemented from September 10, 2011 till March 20, 2011 under the funding of the Embassy of Great Britain and North Ireland and Taiwan Foundation for Democracy.
The overall goal of the project was to raise awareness of the public and policy and decisions makers on the human rights situation in Mongolia and to educate the people on their rights and freedoms.
The project’s immediate objectives were to use ICT to educate the public on their rights and freedoms and UN mechanisms, to introduce the facts of the human rights violations to the local and international communities, to deliver the voices of the human rights groups to policy and decision makers, to retain the people’s attention to the on-going UN UPR process and to contextualize information on human rights. The main impact of the project is citizens educated on their rights and freedom and informed in the human rights violations and raised awareness of the policy and decision makers.
The project targeted to the entire public, especially rural population, journalists and decision-makers.
