Strengthening Civil Society and Parent Engagement in Education to Increase Transparency, Accountability and Educational Services
On December 9, 2014, the World Bank and Globe International Center signed a grant agreement of USD 650,000 to support secondary education in rural Mongolia. The grant, funded by the Global Partnership for Social Accountability and managed by the World Bank, will help Mongolia increase accountability in the education sector. The agreement was signed by Bert Hofman, the World Bank’s Country Director for Mongolia, and K.Naranjargal, the President of Globe International Center.

The project, “Transparency and Accountability in Mongolian Education” (TAME), intends to improve the quality of educational services in eight aimag centers and 20 soums by increasing transparency in budget and procurement activities. Target locations have been chosen based on corruption levels, inadequate educational services and those consisting of minority populations.
