Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media

Globe International Center is implementing the project named “Piloting Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media (GSIM) and media self-regulations in Mongolia” with the support of International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC) and the UNESCO, Beijing Office.

The International Programme for the Development of Communication  is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) programme aimed at strengthening the development of mass media in developing countries.

Within the project, the UNESCO publication "Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media"  will be translated, launched on GIC website and disseminated widely among relevant stakeholders.

Consultative meeting on media self-regulation and a consultative meeting to develop tailored strategy to pilot the GSIM in accordance with the Mongolian media context and discuss the adaptation of these Indicators will be organized in cooperation with the Confederation of Journalists, media associations, as well as with other media development organizations.

Working in cooperation with the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists and other media associations, this project is therefore aimed at promoting gender equality in media through the piloting of the Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media (GSIM) in at least three media outlets working in cooperation, and in addressing the professional challenges faced by the sector promoting the adoption and implementation of an efficient self-regulation mechanism.
