A video training, “In case your professional rights are violated…” dedicated to local media workers, was held on October 13-14, 2010 in the distance training center at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST). Organized by Globe International NGO, the training was attended by a total of 86 journalists and media equipment operators from Zavkhan, Dundgobi, Ovorkhangai, Khentii, Darkhan-Uul, Orkhon, Dornogobi, Gobi-Altai, Dornod, Sukhbaatar, Tov and Bayankhongor provinces.
At the training, Globe International NGO explained to the attendees the rapid reporting system and other permanent channels accepting information on conflicts.
Lawyer D.Monkhburen reported in detail the reasons and forms of professional rights violations, and how to treat the affected persons in the case of a rights violation. IT advisor, Ts.Taivanbaatar advised how to report professional rights violations online and how to use the www.globeinter.org.mn/selfalerting website.
Local journalists shared views on the situation of the media sector in their provinces, urgent problems, and the bias of administrative organizations and officials towards journalists and media people.
