The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between NGO, Globe International Center, and the Mongolian Bar Association was held on January 4, 2018 at Ulaanbaatar’s National Legal Center. The MOU aims to promote freedom of expression in Mongolia through further development of cooperation between legal and journalist communities.
According to the MOU, Globe International Center will hold series of capacity-building training events for members of the Mongolian Bar Association, which broadly focuses on international conventions and treaties ratified by Mongolia that anchor freedom of expression.
The Mongolian Bar Association has agreed to support enhancement of the media-legal environment, increase the legal awareness of journalists and provide them with professional advice. This includes the preparation and training of facilitators to assist with the implementation of the UN Action Plan to end impunity for crime against journalists.
