Law on the Information Transparency and Right to Information

Law on Information Transparency and Right to Information will be effective from December 1, 2011. The purpose of this law is to regulate relations pertaining to ensuring transparency of the state, and rights of citizens and legal entities to seek and receive information.

This law regulates the following organizations financed by the state and local budget:

i. Secretariat of the State Great Khural(Parliament);
ii. Office of the President;
iii. Government Cabinet;
iv. Administrative office of the National Security Council;
v. State central administrative or other state administrative organizations;
vi. judiciary and prosecutor’s offices of all instances;
vii. Institutions established by the State Great Khural with exception of the Government Cabinet;
viii. administrative offices of local municipal and self governing bodies, local government owned or partial ownership legal entities ;
ix. state owned or partially owned  legal entities those ;
x. Non-governmental organizations executing the particular functions of the executive branch in accordance with the section 1, article 19, Mongolian Law on Government ; and
xi. Mongolian National Public Radio and Television organization.
