Local reporters voiced at “Freedom of Information-Mongolia” documentary film

Australian journalist Kitty Hamilton, who is working in Mongolia at the invitation of the Press Institute, performed his shooting of documentary film “Freedom of Information-Mongolia” in Ovorkhangai province. The journalist got au fait with working environment of local reporters and exchanged views on freedom of information. Local reporters spoke about freedom of information in Mongolia whether it exists in local area, and what kind of pressure they have, who make it etc.

“Local journalists face variety of problems and difficulties that are extremely different from Ulaanbaatar. Some issues such as status of host organizations and limited atmosphere of advertisement constrict the opportunity of promoting non-dependent press. It lacks to distribute and spread information to the people and herders in remote area” the Australian journalist said after filming.

She was amazingly impressed by students of “Youth Reporter” club in Children Department of Ovorkhangai province. “They are going to the journalism with great striving and endeavor at their so young age. I have never seen such happening in the highly developed country of Australia. This was the most special event for me during my working in Mongolia” she said.

The “Freedom of Information-Mongolia” documentary film will be broadcast on TV of Australia in the near future.
