A ceremony was held on March 31, 2009 in Bishrelt Hotel to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Glob International NGO that raises a motto ‘Knowledge is power’.
Since its establishment the Glob International has attached much attention to an issue of creating legal basis and environment for shaping a humanitarian democratic society in Mongolia. Glob International has drawn up a draft Law on Freedom of Information and made a considerable contribution to process of ratifying the Law on Public Radio and Television. It has initiated a renovation of the Law on State Secret as well as it has been involved in advocacy for the Law on Domestic Violence and the establishment of a National Coalition for the International Criminal Court. Over the past period, Glob International has directly involved about 8,000 individuals and civil society groups in around 180 events including training sessions, workshops, consultative meetings, forums and round-table discussions. Moreover, Globe International carried out about 60 projects.
Furthermore, it has run media awareness campaigns in association with 160 metropolitan and provincial media outlets and has raised public awareness on human rights and crucial social issues through around 200 broadcast programs and press publications. It has also published about 100 books, handbooks and fliers totaling 300,000 copies.
In co-operation with its partner Article 19, an international human-rights organization which promotes freedom of expression and freedom of information globally, Glob International produced a landmark report entitled "Mongolia in Transition: Mongolian Legislation Affecting Freedom of Expression".
Globe International works as a member of the working group to implement the National Human Rights Program. Gob International is also a member of four international reputable organizations including the International Freedom of Expression Exchange organization based in Canada, the Asia Forum human rights organization headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, the Global Forum for Media Development and Internews International.
