Journalists invited to Business Reporting Training course

Globe International will hold a four-day business reporting training course in January 2009 in Ulaanbaatar. The course organisers plan to invite journalists from 8 provinces and Ulaanbaatar who are predicted to be future core news suppliers.

The training course is part of the Internews Europe and Globe International  project “Business Roaming.”

The project aims to reach a target group of nomadic or semi-nomadic micro- and SME enterprise community. The overall objective of Roaming Business is to improve the flow of business-related information to predominantly nomadic rural communities of Mongolia.

The project will launch an SMS service, create a database and run programs on the Mongolian National Radio and Education channel. An editorial team consisting of a director and two editors is  working on program content in cooperation with partners.

An interactive workshop for herders on information needs and importance will be held in Ovorkhangai aimag on December 24-27 in Arvaikheer town, attended by 19 herders who will be local information gatherers.
