UNION
Mongolian biggest daily newspapers, including “Udriin Sonin”, “Zuuny Medee”, “Unuudur”, “Unen”, “Ardiin Erkh” and “Mongolyn Medee” has recently declared establishment of Union of Mongolian Daily Newspapers. The Union elected Ts.Baldorj, General Editor of “Unuudur” newspaper as its president.
The Union has issued a Declaration of its mission and activity objectives in order to realise the fourth governance for the use of the society by respecting rights of the society as the people have broadly acknowledged intellectual and enlightening duties of the daily newspapers.
It has been DECLARED :
- We, the daily newspapers shall not intervene each other’s publizising policies while we respect each other though we have our own nuances. At this time, we are accepting a challenge of the society for cooperation in highest professional level while we are abiding journalism ethics. We shall integrate our joint belief and endeavor on the basis of being a messenger encouraging fair, open, transparent and pluralistic idea and expressing people’s will.
- We shall irreversively stand for development of health atmosphere in the society by revealing any dirty phenomena rooted in the society.
- We shall decisively fight against already established or potential to be established dominance of political and financial oligarh network, contacts, corruptions and powers, and unemployment and poverty.
- We shall protest against any attemps to deviate values and reputations of media organizations by keeping them in a narrow circle of business and certain groups.
- We shall cooperate for resolving social issues of staffs of founding and associating member newspapers, protecting their rights and interests, improving their knowledge and education, and preparing future staffs.
- We shall pay more attention on updating multi-sided management and production activities of our newspapers and being consistent with the time period.
- We shall densely strive together with our pen-colleagues working in media fields and mutually support each other.
- We shall protect journalist working for fair and justice in any media fields.
- We shall respect democracy, human rights, freedom of speech and publication, and citizens’ root rights.
- Today where some attempts have emerged to create intellectual violances at press market and to make re-distribution in informing activities through political, monetary and financial occupations, we, the Union of Mongolian Daily Newspapers shall irreversively implement its social duties with highest reputation.
