INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS CLUB TO BE ESTABLISHED

On July 6, a meeting to consider the issue of establishing a political observers club comprising journalists dealing with international issues, international relations desk officers and researchers was held in MONTSAME agency’s Information centre.

The main objective of the club is to prepare and broadcast comments and reviews on notable international events. The club will also focus on supporting information and experience exchange among international journalists, enhancement of their skills and qualifications and training of young political observers.

The meeting discussed the club’s priorities and procedural aspects and set up a Coordinating council that would formulate the club’s charter.

Director of the International Studies Institute of the Academy of Sciences L. Khaisandavaa, political observer B. Dashzeveg, MONTSAME’s editor-in-chief G. Purevsambuu, political observer Ts. Davaajav, editor-in-chief of “Mongolin Medee” newspaper issued in Chinese M. Chimedtseye, head of the Press and information division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs B. Dorj, director of the Mongolian National University’s International Relations Institute, as well as candidates from Mongolia’s National Radio and Television and newspapers “Unen”, “Udriin sonin” were elected to the Coordinating council unanimously.

The club will be public, voluntary and open, as well as independent from any public institutions and political parties. It will be headquartered at MONTSAME agency’s premises.
