IN GOBI-ALTAI AIMAG
2006/09/12
Upon discussing the issue of establishing a local public radio in connection with the adoption of the Law on Public Radio and Television, Gobi-Altai aimag’s Citizens Representatives Assembly decided to establish “Altai” local public radio. “Altai” public radio’s Governing council will comprise 9 members, including journalist E. Buyantugs, writer Z. Gunsen, businessman Kh. Myagmardash, lawyer S. Nast, journalist D. Sereeter, head of the aimag’s national unity committee B. Ragchaa, head of the Workers association B. Tumendemberel and others. Journalist D. Sereeter was elected as the council’s head. The assembly also considered it reasonable to lease or privatize the aimag’s “Burhan Buudai” television to make it commercially-oriented because it cannot be public in view of the fact that broadcasts only within the aimag’s centre Yesunbulag sum,. “Altai” radio will broadcast local information 3 times a week for 15 minutes within the aimag’s entire territory and neighboring Hovd, Zavhan, Bayanhongor aimags.
