D.Munkhburen, executive director of Globe International who advocate on free expression and media freedom issues attended in 5th Media Law Advocates Training Programme at the University of Oxford, from 9 - 28 July 2006 in collaboration with the Open Society Justice Initiative and other organisations.
This intensive 3 week training programme in human rights and media law with a focus on litigation and advocacy skills is run by PCMLP in collaboration with the Open Society Justice Initiative and other organisations.
The course is designed for lawyers from around 30 countries who are interested in deepening their understanding of the various regional and international human rights systems, focusing on the protection and promotion of the exercise of the rights to freedom of expression and information.
The aim of this programme was to add value and to capacitate those who are trying to handle such issues day-to-day and whose work could benefit from additional skills and knowledge. Applicants should have a strong commitment to human rights, especially to media freedom, a law degree, and eligibility for legal practice in his/her country. Participants were granted automatic membership of International Media Lawyers Association (IMLA).
