TV head sacked

The National Committee of Public Radio and Television convened on August 17 and dismissed S.Myagmar, who was working as the PRT General Director, based on the results of financial and other inspections carried out at the PRT. As well as director, the Public Radio director, the director of the Finance Department and director of Human Resources and the Cooperation Department were also dismissed. Public Radio Director B.Purevdash is temporarily replacing S.Myagmar.

The National Committee of the PRT announced through national daily newspapers that it will select a candidate for the role of PRT general director. People interested in the position can nominate, but organizations, groups and communities cannot nominate. The qualifications are: the must be publicly well-known, have no membership of any party, have work experience in mass media and the equivalent field for no less than five years; effectively uphold an ideology of free press, have a knowledge of radio and television and English and another common language, have management skills, be a team player, be good at decision-making and have worked in Mongolia in the past three years. The deadline for applications is August 28. The National Commettee will appoint the new General Director in a secret poll, after which the public will be informed of the successful applicant.
