Globe International is implementing a project titled Improving Visibility of Women Candidates in the 2012 Parliamentary Election with the support of The Asia Foundation. The Project is from September 21, 2011 through February 29, 2012.

Improve the visibility of women political candidates in the upcoming parliamentary election.
Project Activities
Media monitoring
Five newspapers and web pages will be monitored on how women candidates were appeared in the media during 2008 parliamentary election.
Training for journalist
Globe International will hold a two day interactive training session for 25 leading journalists on the roles and responsibilities of the media in an election: existing media bias toward male candidates; analyses of negative coverage of female candidates and increase public readership.
5 journalists will be selected based on their performances during the training and provided with grant to develop a fair and balanced story about female candidates for parliamentary election.
Training for women candidates
An intensive two day training session will be conducted for 25 women parliamentary
A broad representation of female candidates from several political parties, as well as independents' participation in the training will be ensured.
With assistance from the British Embassy in Mongolia, the Asia Foundation will identify and invite a female British Parliamentarian to be a guest speaker at the training. This guest speaker will share her experience in running for office and engaging with the media.
