Public Council at Work

“Public Council at Work” campaign aimed at informing the public in establishment and existence of  Public Council has been launched by  the project Curbing Corruption through Empowerment of the Public Council of the Anti-corruption Agency (ACA) with the financial support of the Partnership for Transparency Fund.

The project printed 2000 copies of the fliers educating the public on the role of PC, legal regulation, PC members, PC goals and duties, types of corruption, ACA hot line number and contacts of the Public Council members and distributes to the citizens.

Campaign includes the media rally with goal to air four television programs aimed at providing more detailed information of PC works, public’s role in curbing corruption and  on the need to amend the legal provision and working rules of PC.and the PC members have attended the popular programs such as forty-minute “Important Talk” of  NTV and thirty-minute  “Discussion” of MN 25. The PC Council members also will be interviewed by a news-channel Eagle TV.  SBN channel is producing a 20 minute program on the activities of joint project of the ACA Public Council and Globe International.

The media rally also involves the newspapers. Deedsiin Khureelen, weekly newspaper published an article informing the public on the on-going project activities and recommendations on more favorable legal environment. Interviews of the PC members also will appear in daily newspapers Odriin Sonin and Onoodor

The project will hold the 3d civil society consultative meeting on June 29, 2009. The meeting will evaluate the project activities which is coming to end this month and the project team will hand over the documents produced by the project to the ACA, the legal consultants of the newly elected President and the Parliament.
