Civil Society Consultative meeting will take place on 23 April 2009 at Bishrelt hotel, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. It is the 2d meeting that the Public Council of the Anti-corruption Agency exchanges their opinions with civil society to build the good partnership with the public. The first meeting was organized on February 6, 2009 at the conference room of the National Legal Center. It involved 25 participants represented the Anti-corruption Agency, PC members, National Human Rights Commission and NGOs.
This time the PC will present the recommendations on the favorable legal environment to make the PC more powerful to the meeting. The recommendation was developed by the Public Council Empowerment Team in cooperation with the Latvian expert.
The civil society organizations will be introduced with the comparative research on the public councils or the similar bodies in other countries that was conducted by Aiga Grisane, an expert from
Transparency International-Mongolia. The research will give the better ideas to the PC on how to be more active and powerful.
In accordance with the meeting agenda, the participants will also discuss the action plan to advocate and lobby the legal amendments.
