Public Council members of the Anti-corruption Agency (ACA)will attend the one-day training on April 22, 2009 to be held at Bishrelt hotel. The training is a part of the project Curbing Corruption through Empowering the Public Council that is run by Globe International under the grant of the Partnership for Transparency Fund.
The training program includes presentation of the Comparative research on Public councils or similar Bodies for cooperation with society of Anti-corruption institutions. It was conducted by Aiga Grisane, an expert from Transparency International-Latvia. The attendees also will discuss the recommendations on how to make the legal environment favorable for the PC efficient functioning.
Mr. G.Erdenebat, PC member and professor of the Law school of the State University of Mongolia will talk about the legal framework of the conflict of interests. Mrs. D. Dulamsuren, Senior Expert of Prevention and Education Department of the ACA will introduce the participants on the corruption types. Training participants also will be informed in the present activities of the ACA and exchange their information and opinions.
Besides the PC members representatives of Mongolian NGOs invited to take their contribution to make the PC more powerful.
In accordance with the Anti-corruption law the Public Council has 15 members who were nominated by the ACA and appointed by the President for four years term in August 2007. The President of Mongolia has issued Decree No 195 on August 3, 2007 and approved the Working Rules of the Public Council.
Globe International has been implementing this project since January 2009.
