This year, the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO and the Globe International Center organized an event on the occasion of the Day on 2 May in Ulaanbaatar. Ms Uyanga Sukhbaatar, Secretary-General of the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO, Ambassador of the French Republic H.E. Mr Philippe Merlin and Ambassador of the Delegation of the EU H.E. Mr Traian Laurentiu Hristea gave opening speeches at the event.

Mongolia’s Constitution guarantees its citizens the freedom of opinion and expression and the right to information and to publish. In 2011 the Law on Information Transparency and the Right to Information (LITRI) was adopted following consistent lobbying from civil society. The Law was ranked 53rd out of 95 countries in the Global Right to Information Rating.

The Town Hall meetings have been organized by The Globe International Center NGO within framework of “Promoting Human and Labor rights through GSP+” project, which is funded by EU through Democratic Reporting International.

On 16th of Jan 2019, Globe International Center NGO organized “Opportunity for local business to enter EU market” town hall meeting with support of Mayor’s Office of Uvs province within framework of “Promoting Human and Labor Rights through GSP+” project.

Over the last two days, 12-13 November 2018, the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA) and its members from Mongolia, the Centre for Human Rights and Development (CHRD) and Globe International center (GIC), organised a joint consultation on National Human Rights Defenders "Advancing Human Rights and Development" in the country.

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between NGO, Globe International Center, and the Mongolian Bar Association was held on January 4, 2018 at Ulaanbaatar’s National Legal Center.

Mongolia’s Globe International Center has been involved in a seven-month international campaign to promote the safety of journalists. The world-wide events culminating each year on November 2nd draw attention to the low conviction rate for violent crimes against media workers.
