AGAINST CENSOSHIP!!! is the message to address to the Mongolian authorities. Although the 1998 Media Freedom Law bans the censorship is existed and the journalists are highly self-censored according to a 2004 survey of Globe International conducted among 200 journalists working in news and current affairs.

As I have tried to specialize a media lawyer on promotion of the freedom of information and legal supportive media, and encouragement of professional and independent journalism since establishment of my law firm and my little experience on this field resulted to join me to the Mongolian media delegation’s visit to Sweden organized by Globe International NGO.

When we, Mongolian media delagetions left for Sweden to be introduced with Swedish media environment, I was thought how Mongolian media development was left from them and how big difference are existing between us as Sweden has enacted the law on Media freedom long ago in 1766 and as well as the Mongolian law on media freedom ratified only just in 1998. By the way, law on media freedom which enacted Swedish Parliament/ Reichtag/ was first law in the world. |

“Globe International”, a Mongolian NGO in cooperation with Bayan-Olgii Office of the Governor and the Bayan-Olgii Branch of Confederation of Mongolian Journalists (CMJ) in the framework of the Communication and Information Programme, under authority of UNESCO Office Beijing in line with the “Right to communicate: capacity-building of ethnic minority broadcasting in Mongolia” initiative is due to organize the trip of UNESCO-selected consultants and conduct trainings for media practitioners at the Bayan-Olgii broadcasting institutions.
