The Globe International Center (GIC) in collaboration with the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO has hosted a panel discussion on “Journalism under Digital Siege” dedicated to World Press Freedom Day today, on May 3, at the Open Society Forum (OSF) conference hall. The forum was attended by representatives of international organizations such as the United Nations Office in Mongolia, the European Union Delegation to Mongolia, and the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO, the US Embassy, the Franco-Mongolian Center, the International Republican Institute and The Asia Foundation.

Public Investment Application to be Piloted in Darkhan-Uul

The MASAM II project team of the Globe International Center NGO, in cooperation with the “Orkhon 21st Century” NGO of Darkhan-Uul province, is going to pilot a mobile application called Public Investment designed to ensure citizen participation in state budget investment. Voting will be piloted in Darkhan soum, Darkhan-Uul province, from April 4 to 18. Citizens of Darkhan-Uul will be able to download and vote for the mobile application from the Playstore and Appstore.
An advocacy campaign continues on draft laws that risk shrinking the space of Mongolian civil society

Mongolian NGOs, such as the Globe International center, Youth Policy Watch and Democracy Education, and independent researcher Ts.Batsugar have launched a legal advocacy campaign around the Mongolian NGO draft law since December, 2021. One aspect of the advocacy campaign directed to influence legislators. The other goal of the campaign is awareness raising of the public on the risk if of shrinking civic space through media campaign.
